"Property development is a central part of the business, and this is a fantastic opportunity to more closely align two of Saffron’s key offerings"
- Tony Hall
Saffron Building Society has announced that Tony Hall will be taking on an expanded role as head of business development, following Peter Owen’s decision to retire after nearly ten years with the company.
In his new role, Tony will also be responsible for Saffron’s property development team.
Peter Owen, the current head of property development at Saffron Building Society, is retiring this week after joining as head of property development in 2014.
Saffron says Tony’s new appointment brings all of its front book lending into one place.
In addition, Saffron’s property development manager, Matt Hardy, will be taking on a new role as national lending manager for property development, reporting to Tony. Matt joined Saffron in 2021 and has held a key leadership role within the property development team, working closely with Peter in the delivery of development finance funding solutions for both new and existing customers.
Tony Hall commented: “Firstly, I would like to thank Peter for his stellar decade of service at Saffron. I am really excited by my expanded remit and I am looking forward to building on Peter and Matt’s success. Property development is a central part of the business, and this is a fantastic opportunity to more closely align two of Saffron’s key offerings – something which will benefit developers and brokers alike.”
