HSBC is bringing lending rules for foreign nationals into line with UK residents.

The reductions cover the lenders' SVR and buy-to-let variable rates.

The lenders are reducing their variable rates by more than the Bank of England's recent 0.25% rate cut.

The lender has passed on the full Bank Base Rate reduction plus an additional 0.50% cut.
