The co-founders of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) have announced the inaugural MIMHC Charity Ball 2025, sponsored by Market Financial Solutions.
The Ball will take place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on 10th October 2025, as part of World Mental Health Day. The event is being led by William Lloyd-Hayward, group chief operating officer at The Brightstar Group and Jason Berry, group sales director at Crystal Specialist Finance.
More than 14 companies from across the mortgage industry have committed to the event, led by the headline sponsor, Market Financial Solutions. Over 120 tickets have already been sold for the event which hopes to welcome more than 300 guests.
This will be an event with a difference – the night will be alcohol-free. MIMHC said: "We believe that there should be a range of events within our industry and this unique ball adds to that mix. There is clear evidence that alcohol can negatively impact mental health by affecting brain chemistry."
William Lloyd-Hayward (pictured) of MIMHC, said: “The success of the Alzheimer’s charity ball in 2022 helped to show there was space in our industry for a night where we can all come together to support good causes, raise vital funds and have a good time in the process. Working alongside Jason, we are delighted to bring this event to fruition and have been overwhelmed with the support we have already recievd. A huge thank you goes to Market Financial Solutions for their generous support as our headline sponsor.”
Paresh Raja, CEO of Market Financial Solutions, added: “We are delighted to support the first MIMHC Ball as headline sponsor. The work MIMHC does to promote good mental health across our industry is second to none. This event promises an excellent evening of fun and fundraising for an incredible charity, the Niall Stringer Foundation, which many of us are aware of. We look forward to seeing many peers and friends at this event in October.”
All funds raised raised on the night will be donated to the Niall Stringer Foundation, an Essex-based charity supporting young people with access to mental health services and sports clubs across the UK, via Mental Health First Aid. The Foundation was established in 2022 in memory of Niall Stringer, who took his own life just short of his 18th birthday.
The event will include a drinks reception, three course meal, celebrity guest speaker, auction, DJ and dancing.
Sponsors already confirmed for the event include Pepper Money, Barclays, Mortgage Brain, Coreco, Brightstar, Virgin Money, Crystal SF, HSBC, and Landbay.
Launched in 2021, the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter exists to drive positive change around mental health and wellbeing across the mortgage sector. With a growing community of nearly 250 signatory firms with a collective reach to over 20,000 individuals, MIMHC continues to raise awareness, share best practice and champion a culture of support for everyone working in the industry.
