HSBC leapfrogs Big Six to launch lowest mortgage rate

The lender has announced widespread rate cuts across its mortgage ranges.

HSBC has announced further rate cuts across its residential mortgage range, introducing more sub-4% rates.

The lowest rate now on offer is a five-year fixed rate at 3.81%, available at 60% LTV with a £1,499 fee. 

The lowest two-year fixed rate on offer with HSBC is now 4.19% at 60% LTV.

The lender has announced widespread cuts across its residential mortgage ranges, including for existing customers switching or borrowing more, first-time buyer, home movers, and remortgage.

It has also reduced rates across its buy-to-let purchase, remortgage, and existing customer ranges.

The previous lowest mortgage rate on the market was a 3.83% five-year fix from Barclays, launched two weeks ago.

Virgin Money is also offering sub-4% five-year fixed rates up to 75% LTV for both residential and buy-to-let mortgages.
