Andy Mason, head of housing and sustainability at Lloyds Banking Group, has announced his plans to retire from the 5th of April.

Andy has worked for Lloyds Banking Group for 30 years, starting his career as a financial adviser in the Lloyds’ Jarrow branch.

Andy spent a large proportion of his early career working in investments, pensions and protection, working across advice, distribution, relationship and then product development teams, before making the move to mortgages as head of intermediary products and later becoming head of housing and sustainability in 2020.

He was instrumental in supporting the Group’s societal housing ambitions, leading to the first Lloyds Banking Group Housing Senate in 2022 and, more recently, establishing the Shared Ownership Council.

Lloyds says the search for a successor has started.

Esther Dijkstra, managing director of intermediaries at Lloyds Banking Group, said: “On behalf of Lloyds Banking Group, I would like to thank Andy for his dedication and leadership, and I wish him well in this next phase of life.”

Andy Mason added: "It has been a very enjoyable career with the Group, during which I’ve had wonderful colleagues and made many friends in the industry. I look forward to spending more time with my family but I don't doubt my naturally curious mind will open the door to new adventures sometime in the future!"
